Getting personal – Kate Nagle Photography Santa Rosa Photographer

I said I’d like to get more personal when it comes to my blog and website, so here it is.. My intstagram life.  It’s pretty crazy how often I use it to capture my everyday happenings.  It’s my phone that is always there to catch the cute moments as I raise this little lovebug.

I’ve been keep something from you – Santa Rosa Photographer Kate Nagle

I have no excuse for not posting anything about my life.  It was always my intention to come across as a real person, not just a photographer, but somehow a major event in my life has been passed up and I’ve never mentioned it here.  So here it is..

I got pregnant with the man I adore, I grew huge, I had a baby that we now both adore. My daughter loves him too of course.

Like the cobbler who doesn’t have shoes, I have have not taken enough photos of my new son (at least nice ones with a real camera).  Here’s a few.  the last two months have been a blur, so I’m SO glad to have taken these.  He’s grown so much and started really showing off his personality.  The first ones here are of course when he was still inside, the next are at 4 days old and the last ones are at 8 weeks. Pregnancy photos by Michelle Montalbano, a dear friend and great photographer.

Wedding at the Golf Course – Kate Nagle Photography Santa Rosa Ca

A very photogenic couple on a very pretty day in the middle of January.  Gotta love California for coming through even in the middle of winter.

mary moyce - Dear Kate
You did such a gracious job of photographing Bob and Trish’s wedding and we’ll all thrilled to get a sneak peek at your shots. Many people commented on how relaxed you were, which put the bridal party at ease. Thanks so much!

What to wear – Kate Nagle Sonoma County Photographer

People often ask what they should wear to a photo shoot.  Without meeting you first, it’s really hard to know.  Your style is entirely personal and what you’re comfortable in is really important.  With that said, I can can give you suggestions for what colors work well together and what sorts things really stand out in a photo.

Things to consider are:

Neckline (what looks best on you in real life will obviously look best on you in a photo)

Fit- big relaxed shirts might feel nice but watch out for the “dumpy” look.  If a little bulge ends up popping up in a photo you can either love it or have me fix it in Photoshop but it’s best to avoid hiding completely.

Kids should wear well fitting and washed clothing too (crease marks from the store really stand out)

Don’t go overboard with matching. This just may be my personal preference, but I’d say some variation makes for a nice casual and spontaneous look.

If you like color, go for it.  Accessories can add a little dash or you can be brave and wear stripes and plaid together. You can pick 3 colors and have everyone wear two of them or pick 2 colors and have a third be an accessory that half the group wears. Layer up, we can decide at the last minute what looks best.
